Many of our members and sites are suitable for people of all ages and all abilities. We understand it takes time to research all the places you can go with walking aids, buggies, and wheelchairs so we have compiled a list for you. Caherconnell Fort

Caherconnell Stone Fort and Sheepdog Demonstrations

No visit to the Burren is complete without experiencing the wonders of Caherconnell featuring Clare’s only sheepdog demonstration and a wonderous fort dating back to 10th century. Plan on spending a few hours to really appreciate what they have to offer. The Caherconnell site is fully wheelchair accessible, and staff are always available to help those who need assistance. For those with mobility issues parking is available in the VIP parking area, just adjacent to the visitor centre. Should assistance be required please call us in advance of arrival and we will be on hand to assist.

The Burren Smokehouse

During your visit to Clare, call into the Burren Smokehouse Visitor Centre located in Lisdoonvarna just off the Wild Atlantic Way and a short drive from Doolin. The visitor centre is fully wheelchair-accessible and wheelchair-accessible toilets are available.

Doolin Cave Eco Trail

Visit the award-winning Doolin Cave and Visitor Centre located 4 kilometres outside the village of Doolin in the heart of the Burren in County Clare. The Doolin Cave Eco Trail can be explored by wheelchair or buggy if members of your party want to take the caves tour. There is something for everyone here.

Explore living history and let Doolin Ferry company take you to the Aran Islands and Cliffs of Moher by sea. Doolin Ferry Est. 1970 operates the largest fast ferry from Doolin, the ‘Doolin Express’. The Doolin Express Ferry is the fastest crossing to the Aran Islands, reaching Inis Oirr in only 15 minutes! This ferry has state of the art anti sea sickness technology, Wifi, and a Mini Bar on board providing the ultimate comfort for our passengers. For wheelchair passengers: Each passenger is assessed on a case-by-case basis (e.g. they cannot take motorised wheelchairs) but they will do their best to accommodate if conditions are favourable.

The Cliffs of Moher

Nothing will stop you from visiting one of Ireland’s most popular tourist attractions. The Cliffs of Moher Visitor Centre is entirely wheelchair accessible and disabled access to the cliffs can be gained from three different exits onto pathways provided. Counter heights at the Front Desk have been staggered to allow ease of access for wheelchair users. Different tactile surfaces on the floor have been provided at the start and end of ramps, at the start of stairwells, and at platforms on the ramp where two routes exist.

Why not visit their shop in Ennistymon on your trip and see their beautiful collection of skin care products for yourself.  The offer handmade soaps, botanical oils, organic perfumes and Irish beeswax balms, shaving and Irish gifts – all with nature at the heart of their design. Their shop in Ennistymon, Co Clare is fully wheelchair accessible.

Music Sessions in Doolin

From the moment you arrive in Doolin, you will be drawn into one of the many pubs with the sound of traditional Irish music. All of the bars in Doolin are wheelchair friendly.
