Cloghaun Luxury Homes is a meticulously restored late 1700s Irish farmstead comprising the main house, The Hawthorn (sleeps 8) and The Hazel (sleeps 4) situated just outside Doolin, Co. Clare, overlooking the Aran Islands and Galway Bay on the Wild Atlantic Way. Cloghaun Luxury Homes are available for short and long term stays and can be rented together, or individually.
These properties have been in the Howard family since the 1830s and in 2017 were lovingly restored by a fifth-generation member of the Howard family. The standard of accommodation in both properties is exceptional and has to be seen to be truly appreciated. The restoration successfully marries modern conveniences with style and luxury, while also retaining many original features.
These luxurious holiday lodges are a three-minute drive from the Atlantic Ocean, seven minutes drive to Doolin and are adjacent to Ballinalacken Castle Hotel. They are the perfect setting from which to experience Ireland’s majestic Wild Atlantic Way and to explore the unique landscape of the Burren, designated a UNESCO world heritage site. This area of Clare has lots to offer, be it fishing, hill walking, golf, horse riding and much more, all set against the beautiful local scenery. Among the many local attractions are the world-famous Cliffs of Moher, Doolin and Aillwee Caves and Poulnabrone Dolmen.

The restoration of The Hawthorn demonstrates tremendous attention to detail and the cottage now spans approx. 3,200 square feet (300 sq metres) and comprises a generous sitting room, separate kitchen and four large bedrooms sleeping 8 in three super king size beds and one king size bed.

The Hazel, spanning approx. 2196 sq feet (205 sq metres) was originally the cow shed! Following an imaginative and elegant restoration it now houses two bedrooms sleeping 4 in two super king size beds, galley kitchen, and a large, double height sitting room. Those staying in the master bedroom will enjoy panoramic views of the Aran Islands and Galway Bay.
This former cow shed has undergone a dramatic transformation.
High ceilings and a solid wood stove enhance the experience of a night in with a glass of wine and good company.
You will find it very easy to relax and get comfortable in the spacious living area in The Hazel.
