Burren Slow Food Festival

Burren Slow Food Festival – Sunday 11th May – Lisdoonvarna
Cookery demos, seafood talk & tasting, farmers market and yoga classes all day.

Held 20 years ago in Lisdoonvarna, the Burren Slow Food Festival provides a wonderful day for lovers of food and wellness. On the farmers market, you can browse locally produced foods and crafts.

Renowned chefs like Peter Jackson from the Roadside Tavern, Executive Chef Liam Finnegan from Ashford Castle, as well as Jonathan Keane from The Lodge at Ashford Castle will be sharing their skills and knowledge during cookery demos.

For oyster lovers, different growers will talk about their unique kinds of oysters, and a tasting will ensure that you can appreciate the flavour of each one.

Throughout the day, yoga teachers from the area will offer a wide variety of yoga, acupuncture and sound bath classes – all for only €10!

Of course it wouldn’t be a food festival if there weren’t food available to eat on the spot. The Burren Display Centre tea room will set up a pop-up café at the festival in the Pavilion. There will also be other food offerings on the day. Nobody will go home hungry!

On Saturday 10th May, the annual Burren Slow Food Banquet will take place. Secure your ticket now!

Admission to the festival is free. Events during the festival weekend may incur a charge.

Doolin Cave

Doolin Cave is open daily from 10am to 5pm in May. Discover the power of ONE at Doolin Cave and see for yourself how a single continuous drop of water formed the largest stalactite in Europe, the only one of its kind in Ireland, and a force of nature that will take your breath away.

Prepare for a true underground experience. Deep in the heart of the earth, 200 feet down, Doolin Cave is a fantasy-like world created from water, time and the hand of nature. Take a journey down through an intricate system of passages and pathways that will lead you into the majestic cathedral-like dome of the cave and the awe-inspiring wonder that is the Great Stalactite. 7.3 metres long and weighing around 10 tonnes, this vast structure reaches down from the roof of the Cave, catching the light, reflecting colours and detail like a massive, ornate glass chandelier. It is a sight like no other and one that will stay with you forever.
